Welcome to SBIDA!

Thanks for visiting our website.

We’re a group of Irish dancers who practise, exercise and socialise together. SBIDA is dedicated to promoting a love of Irish dancing in a friendly atmosphere and communal spirit.

Our motto is Bringing Back the Céilí and that’s what we’re all about – we run our own SBIDA céilís three or four times a year, as well as doing corporate and charity céilís. We also provide Irish dancers for corporate events and shows.

SBIDA has raised almost £10,000 for charities since we started in 2016 including Action Cancer, Barretstown, Inspire, Anthony Nolan, NI Hospice and the NI Children’s Hospice.

You can find some Frequently Asked Questions about our class here, and a signup form for our waiting list here!

What We’ve Done

Just to give a very brief idea of some of the different things the SBIDA crew has done together:

  • Street céilí at Belfast Culture Night
  • Featured in a music video with Rend Collective.
  • Danced in Phoneix Park for the visit of Pope Francis in 2019.
  • Performed and danced at dozens of céilís, organised by SBIDA in aid of various charities and raising over £10,000 for charities.
  • Travelled to Malta on two occasions to put on performances for St. Patrick’s Day.
  • Travelled to Greece to perform at and call a céilí for their St. Patrick’s Day Ball.
  • Built an incredible community of wonderful people who exercise, dance and have fun together.
