I Will Be Undignified – Performance & Music Video with Rend Collective at the SSE Arena – June 2018

This was one of the most exciting SBIDA events we’ve ever done. Gareth from the band messaged us one day out of the blue and asked if we’d be interested in helping them out. It didn’t take long to decide.

Bonus point of interest, our routine was used by Irish dancers right across America for Rend Collective’s following tour. Pretty cool!

You can learn the routine yourself from our tutorial video below:

Teaching Across the Globe on St. Patrick’s Day – 17th March 2021

We had the pleasure of being asked by Square Studio Dance, based in the U.S.A., to help teach a class for children who either for physical or financial reasons, couldn’t join an Irish dancing class where they were. This included being broadcast into a large hospital in New York City – not your average St. Patrick’s Day!

Belfast Culture Night – Street Céilí

Culture Night in 2019 was our biggest ever céilí. We were lucky enough to have about 24 SBIDA regulars along to help us and we genuinely thought that was overkill. Turns out, we’d have need two or three times that number. Below is a live clip from one of the nights when we brought the céili alive in the heart of Belfast.

90’s Quiz in Ryan’s Bar, Belfast

The SBIDA crew are having a quiz night in Ryan’s Bar, Belfast on Thursday 22nd February. Guaranteed to be filled with fun, nostalgia and people saying “Aw yeah I remember that! Don’t know the answer though.”

Money raised on the night will go towards our upcoming trip to perform at the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Malta. Find more information on our Facebook page.Ryans_90s-Quiz-18

Ceili Night Belfast – Saturday 2nd December

We’re excited to announce the date for our next ceili night, which will take place in the Botanic inn on the Malone Road in Belfast, on Saturday 2nd December.

Tickets are £5 and you pay at the door.

No Irish dancing experience is required – we will be calling all the dances, as well as entertaining you with a number of performances by the SBIDA dancers!

We look forward to seeing you there.

History of the Class

Adult Irish Dancing Belfast, Ceili night 4

The class was started in February 2016 with the intention of getting more people into Irish dancing, increasing the ceili scene around Belfast, creating a great social connection for people, getting fitter and having fun.

The first class started on Thursday 4th February 2016 in the Morton Community Centre with five attendees and since then has grown from strength to strength.

Classes are taken by Donna Muldoon TCRG and Ethan Loughrey TCRG, who both have danced since they were about 3 years old. Donna learnt to dance and competed for the O’Kane School of Irish Dancing, while Ethan competed for the Groogan O’Doherty School of Irish Dancing.
